Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Healing.” We have a great capacity to repair. Not only our bodies, but our relationships and every other aspect of our life.

What is one unhealthy habit you could contemplate changing to allow your body to heal?

Think of someone you may have wronged and approach them this week with a heart-felt apology.

Brainstorm a few ways to make your life more green to allow the planet to heal.

Success

Success
Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Success.” What does success look like for you? Are you focused only on material things or what will truly fulfill you?

How will you know when you are truly successful?

Do your measurements of success match your values? (For example, are you striving for a bigger paycheck yet long for a “simpler life?”)

What will you do to attract (or repel) success into your life today? What have you dreamed and imagined?

Let us know in the comments where you’ve gone and what you’ve discovered about yourself.

Awakening

Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Awakening.” What lies dormant in your spirit? What power could you awaken inside yourself that would lead you to a more fulfilled life?

What can you do this week to take your life “up a notch?” What new risk could you pursue?

What potential lies ahead of you?

Take notice of what’s happening around you. Have you been fully engaged and creating the life you deserve?

Simplicity

simplicity

Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Simplicity.” Ever wonder why our lives are so busy and complicated? Just maybe, it’s related to the choices we make. Returning to a state of simplicity can clear your mind and allow you to focus on what’s important.

This week, clear all unnecessary appointments from your schedule. Make sure you have time to rest, reflect, and spend time with your friends and family. Reconnect with yourself.

Pick one area in your house to clean out anything that’s no longer used or needed.

If possible, spend some time in nature. Notice how well everything seems to work without the need for a lot of “stuff.”

Transformation (if not now, when?)

transformation

Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Transformation.” The word is often used when referring to the incredible reshaping of a body. Changes that occur in our mind can be just as remarkable.

What isn’t working in your life? How might changing the way you look at things change your direction?

Next time you find yourself in a “bad” situation, make a mindful effort to shape it towards the positive. Take coal and make a diamond.

What needs to change to allow you to live as the real, authentic you?

Let us know in the comments where you’ve gone and what you’ve discovered about yourself.

Surrendering (but not giving up)

Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Surrendering.” For many, the word isn’t in their vocabulary because they think it means “giving up.” However, sometimes “going with the flow” is the smartest option.

Once this week, let go when you feel you need to be in control. How did that decision change the circumstances?

If you sense yourself holding someone to your own standards, take a few seconds and note what makes that person truly valuable and unique. Let go of the need to have them be what you want.

When a situation arises that is simply too big for you to handle alone, invite someone to be part of the solution. Let go of the thought that you always have to “go it alone.”

Strength (character not muscle)

Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Strength.” Physical strength may be admired but strength of character is more important.

What inner strength do you possess? How have you been allowing it to show up in your daily life?

Think of a time that you “survived.” What got you through?

This week, give a gift of yourself to another and reflect on how it impacts you.

Let us know in the comments where you’ve gone and what you’ve discovered about yourself.

The Value of Coaching

This is from last year, but I stumbled across this excellent article online at Chief Learning Officer about the value of having a coach. It’s sometimes misunderstood that coaching is to “fix” someone when more often it’s used to enhance performance. From the article, “It’s rare for an organization to offer coaching to someone who doesn’t offer enormous promise and potential.

Corporations invest a lot of money in coaching services for their high-performance, high-value individuals. But coaching isn’t just for the elite. The value of coaching in obtaining these positions can’t be under-estimated. Coaching is a substantial investment but one that pays off by creating a higher performing, more heart-focused version of you.

Through heart-focused leadership coaching, we work together as partners to build your resilience. To communicate with more impact and influence and connect with your team, we’ll explore eight aspects of a heart-focused leader:

  • creative
  • authentic
  • vulnerable
  • resilient
  • intuitive
  • empathetic
  • trusting
  • transparent

Goal setting, planning and accountability keep you on track to reach your desired destination. What could you achieve this year with a little coaching?

Playfulness (regardless of age)

Road Trip! The destination for this week (fittingly so) is Playfulness. Being an “adult” doesn’t mean you should forget what it is like to be a child.

This week, thoroughly enjoy yourself and have fun.

Roll on the floor, horse around, make a lot of noise and laugh.

If you have a house full of kids during the holiday, join in their games. Maybe even start one of your own.

Have a Happy Holiday!

Commitment

Road Trip! The destination for this week is “Commitment.” You give your all to your work, family and community. But do you keep your promises to yourself?

Evaluate your current commitments. Are you still fully engaged or are they draining you?

Take steps this week to fulfill any incomplete promises.

For this week, make at least one commitment to yourself and keep it.
