The Value of Coaching

This is from last year, but I stumbled across this excellent article online at Chief Learning Officer about the value of having a coach. It’s sometimes misunderstood that coaching is to “fix” someone when more often it’s used to enhance performance. From the article, “It’s rare for an organization to offer coaching to someone who doesn’t offer enormous promise and potential.

Corporations invest a lot of money in coaching services for their high-performance, high-value individuals. But coaching isn’t just for the elite. The value of coaching in obtaining these positions can’t be under-estimated. Coaching is a substantial investment but one that pays off by creating a higher performing, more heart-focused version of you.

Through heart-focused leadership coaching, we work together as partners to build your resilience. To communicate with more impact and influence and connect with your team, we’ll explore eight aspects of a heart-focused leader:

  • creative
  • authentic
  • vulnerable
  • resilient
  • intuitive
  • empathetic
  • trusting
  • transparent

Goal setting, planning and accountability keep you on track to reach your desired destination. What could you achieve this year with a little coaching?

If you can, spend a few hours with a child and look at the world through their eyes. Make note of the differences between how you typically react to situations and how they respond. Which would serve you better in your life?
